Dear Uncle James and all of the family,

- I’m writing to introduce myself before I come to Scotland to meet you all. As you know, I’m your second cousin Catherine’s daughter. I understand you lost touch with my mum when she moved to England with my grandparents, but I’m really excited to get to know you all better and develop a relationship with you.

- Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m an only child and I get on with my parents very well. I settled down in Manchester after I graduated from university, and I’ve lived here for nine years now. I absolutely love it! I have been working as a teacher at the local college for six years, and I also work as a photographer on the side. That’s my true passion!

- The college where I work recently offered me the chance to take a six-month sabbatical and I jumped at the chance! I can’t wait to meet you all and learn more about you.
